Composing bonding dental treatment involves preparing the tooth, conditioning the dentine, placing the composite or bonding an indirect restoration. What products does Dominic Hassall use?

First, Dominic talks about dentine bonding and cement: Panavia V5. The original version of this cement used to take at least 10 minutes to set, while the latest dual cure version is much quicker. Panavia V5 comes with a ceramic primer. It contains MDP which increases the bond for zirconia. This product is a resin system which can be used for crown, bridge and veneers too.

Then, Dominic discusses the next-generation dental adhesive that he has been using it since it came on the market. There are similar products around but the 3M™ Scotchbond™ Plus Universal Adhesive is now the universal bonding system of choice. Dominic has given full lectures on its benefits but in short the bonus is that it can be used in self-etch mode, total-etch mode and other circumstances. The 3M™ Scotchbond™ Plus Universal Adhesive is very moisture tolerant and was the first bond to be radiopaque.

Next, Dominic mentions the 3M™ Filtek™ One Bulk Fill Restorative, designed to make posterior restorations faster and easier, available as paste and flowable composite.

Finally, Dominic recommends self-adhesive resins in certain instances which can simplify bonding protocols: 3M™ RelyX™ Universal Resin Cement.
